Kathy Abell Receives Angel Award 2026

The Angel Award recognizes a Saint Gabriel School employee who serves as a role model and is a positive influence in our community. Alums, current parents, past parents, students, faculty, and staff are invited to nominate a current administrator, faculty, or staff member who has made a significant difference in their lives.

Previous winners include Mr. Freeman, Mrs. Adams, and Mrs. Schulz.

Here are some nominations for this year’s winner:

Not only is this person really nice, but she was always open to help anybody who needed it. She still does so now. She has been helping me on my road to confirmation. I would like to say thank you.

She also knows how to get a big message into something simple. So she did do an amazing job advancing my education. She is one of the most compassionate people I know, and she seems optimistic about everything. But another thing, is that she admits to mistakes, a great trait.

Another person writes,

This person is selfless.  She is always around and there for each one of our kids.  She is great at teaching our children about our faith, and great at getting our children ready to receive sacraments while at St Gabriel.  She coordinates Vacation Bible School, and co-chairs the Summer Picnic among other things.  She is always there to help out our children at school even when she is busy.  She makes the time.  She makes our students better people.  She devotes so much time to our parish, and school, even though she has a family at home to take care of.  Her love for God, St Gabriel School, its students, & the Parish is second to none.  There are not many people like her, and we are so very lucky to have her as a teacher, organizer, friend, & a true leader.

Congratulations to the 2026 Angel Award winner, Mrs. Kathy Abell!
